Announcing a “mentorship and strategic alliance” with 2023 NBA prospect Scoot Henderson, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry made the announcement on Tuesday.
Curry’s firm said in a news statement that point guard Henderson, who spent the previous two seasons playing in the G League, will “gain the support and mentorship of Curry as he looks to take ownership of his off-court business enterprise and brand.”
The four-time NBA champion expressed his eagerness to mentor Henderson and his high expectations for the likely top-three pick in the upcoming draught.
Curry added, “I’ve been keeping an eye on Scoot and his family for a long, and I’m beyond thrilled with what he has done so far, and anxious to watch him take charge of his future and flourish.
The bright prospect and the nine-time NBA All-Star both place a strong emphasis on family.
When it comes to placing a high value on our families, our job, and enjoying the gifts in our life, our values are quite similar. I have no doubt that what Dan and the Henderson Family are creating will redefine the way that athletes and their families use their power, continued Curry.
The two-time NBA league MVP also thinks collaborations like theirs may significantly influence both society and the league’s future.
“I genuinely like that we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation while fostering fairness and access for athletes via youth sports. Scoot represents the next development of the game as I look to the future of the NBA and the larger sports world, showing the value of competing for something bigger than oneself.
When the 6’2″ guard transitions to the NBA level, “Curry will help lead him into developing a brand in the business world off the court.”
Henderson said, “I’ve grown up following Stephen on and off the court, admiring him from a distance as he revolutionised the game and developed powerful companies over the past decade. This is a great chance and a dream come true for me. “As we begin this new adventure, I look forward to learning and developing with you, while concentrating on being the best version of myself in basketball, business, and beyond.
